Application & Visa Procedures



KES COLLEGE welcomes students from all origins and does not discriminate against race, color, religion, age etc. Adjusting to life in Cyprus and trying to settle down in a new environment can represent a major step for some students. International Office
 of KES COLLEGE is responsible to prepare and submit the applications that fulfill the criteria according to the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture.


PROCEDURES
The following information shows the steps of the procedures [according to the new regulations of the Cyprus Migration Authorities – April 2009 for getting a student visa. In order to start the procedures for your admission and for your student visa, you must have in mind the following:

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

· Last day to submit the applications to the Ministry of Education is 10/12/2009.

· Deadline for submission of applications to KES College is 08/12/2009.

· The interviews will take place at the Cyprus embassies or Consulates from the 07/01/2010 until the 17/01/2010.


DOCUMENTS
 

THE DOCUMENTS MENTIONED IN THE FOLLOWING PAGES MUST BE GIVEN TOGETHER WITH THE AMOUNT OF

    ·   €150-PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEES NON-REFUNDABLE, AND

    ·   €3250-PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES.

IMPORTANT NOTE

IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED TRANSITIONS THE FOLLOWING MUST BE STATED

  • THE APPLICANTS NAME
  •  PASSPORT NUMBER
  •  PURPOSE OF TRANSFER: PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES.

 Potential students must submit the following to KES College:

  • Attested passport photocopy. Please note that the passport must be valid for at least two years,
  • If the potential student is a minor (under 18 years old), then parental authorization must be given. This document must be attested and must clearly state that the parents or any other adult in charge of the minor gives his/her approval for the minor’s resettlement in Cyprus for studying purposes,
  • Attested original police clearance certificate,
  • Attested original health certificate (see example), attached with the following medical reports:
    • Blood test for Hepatitis B and C, syphilis, and HIV/AIDS,
    • Chest X-Ray for Tuberculosis.

This report must be in the format presented in example and not older than 4 months.

Example of the Health Certificate

  • Attested original bank certificate issued in the students’ country stating that he/she has the financial ability to cover his/her living, studying and repatriation expenses or in case of a scholarship, an attested photocopy will ne needed.
  • Attested photocopies of educational certificates.
  • Bank receipt from the potential student’s country showing that he/she transferred the amount of €3200 to KES College bank account or receipt of transfer made via WESTERN UNION/ MONEY GRAM.

Tuition fees are not allowed to be paid by Bankers Draft

 Documents MUST BE clear and translated in English or Greek.

 PROCEDURES REGARDING ATTESTATION

 PLEASE READ VERY CHEERFULLY THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS.

 1.       Members of the Hague Convention ( http://www.hcch.net/ ) :

In the above section when it states that documents must be attested it means that they must carry the Apostille stamp. No other attestation in necessary.

 Note that the Apostille stamp does not need to be translated.

 2.       Non-members of the Hague Convention ( http://www.hcch.net/ ) :

In the above section when it states that documents must be attested it means that they must firstly be stamped in the potential student’s country by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and secondly by the Cyprus Consulate or Embassy situated in that country.

EXCEPTIONS

Russia & Serbia: documents do not need further attestation if they are appropriately signed and officially stamped by the government authority that issues them. 

China: documents are attested by the ministry of Justice

                                                   

 Attestation of the Medical Certificate and Bank Certificate for all countries( non government documents):

Medical Certificate: must be attested by the foreign Health Ministry, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and after by the Cyprus Embassy or Consulate in the potential student’s country. It is possible for the document to be attested by a notary public whose signature must after be attested by the accountable foreign authority, then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and after by the Cypriot Embassy or Consulate in the potential student’s country.

Bank Certificate: must be attested by a notary public whose signature must after be attested by the accountable foreign authority, then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and after by the Cypriot Embassy or Consulate in the potential student’s country.

During the interviews all applicants must have with them the following documents:

1.Passport (Original)

  1. Attested passport photocopy. Please note that the passport must be valid for at least two years,

  2. Attested original educational certificates.
  3. Letter of admission which verifies that the foreigner has been accepted to attend a program of study at the college, the name of the program, its description and its duration. This will be sent to the students by the College by email or fax.
  4. Receipt for paying the college registration fees. This will be sent by the college to the students by email or fax.
  5. Receipt for paying €3250 for tuition fees. This will be sent by the college to the students by email or fax.
  6. Bank receipt from the potential student’s country showing that he/she transferred the amount of €3250 to KES College bank account or receipt of transfer made via WESTERN UNION / MONEY GRAM.

STEPS TO FOLLOW IN CASE YOU ARE REJECTED THE ENTRY VISA

If an entry visa is not granted then the tuition fees sent are refunded within one month upon receiving the remmitance form. Bank charges may be deducted from the refundable amount.

To receive the tuition fees back follow the steps below:

Step 1: Download the remittance form.

Step 2: Complete the form (double check the swift code and make sure that the beneficiary stated is the holder of the account number/IBAN stated).

Step 3: Send the form via e-mail to the International Student’s Affairs Office (admissions.officer@kes.ac.cy).

Important note:

If the bank details on the remittance form are wrong this may results in additional delay in receiving the money.

 
STEPS TO FOLLOW AFTER GETTING THE ENTRY VISA

Step 1: When the student gets the entry visa, he/she must inform the International Office of KES COLLEGE of the exact date and flight of his/her arrival.

Step 2: ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT
Upon arrival at the airport an officer of the College will be present to assist with the process. The student must present the following:

1. All the original documents that have been stamped
2. A valid passport with expiration date at least one year after the date of arrival
3. At least €2000 in cash on him/her
4. Payment Receipt issued KES COLLEGE
5. Payment Receipt issued by the Bank

Step 3: TEMPORARY RESIDENCY PERMIT [PINK SLIP]

Every foreign student must submit to the International Students' Affairs Office within 15 [fifteen] days of his/her arrival and provide the following in order for him/her to obtain temporary residency at the Republic of Cyprus:

  • A completed M61 form [this form will be provided to you by KES COLLEGE]
  • Foundation Declaration form [this form will be given to you by KES COLLEGE]
  • A photocopy of passport
  • Confirmation of registration from KES COLLEGE
  • Bank statement from a Cypriot bank stating the balance
  • An original copy and a photocopy of the Insurance policy that proves that the student is insured for medical purposes
  • An original copy and a photocopy of rental agreement for the apartment he/she will be residing
  • Medical exams’ results [blood tests along with a chest x-ray]
  • Three [3] passport photos
  • Application Fee €100 [payable at the Immigration Office]

Step 4: The final visa is granted upon successful completion of all the above requirements.
