Aims of the course
The course is designed to:
- Cover the existing gap, in the market field, in connection with the specialized professional medical representatives.
- Offer the basic and satisfactory scientific knowledge [medical and pharmaceutical] to those who intend to follow this profession in a way which will enable them to provide accurate and sufficient information related to the professional presentation of pharmaceutical products.
- Provide basic knowledge in the field of marketing, as well as knowledge in relation to the promotion of pharmaceutical products
- Contribute in a way that the prospective medical representatives can exercise their profession on the basis of professional ethics.
- Take into consideration the European Union (EU) and the current pharmaceutical legislation in EU (Directives 2004/24/EC, 2004/28/EC, 2004/27/EC, Regulation (EC) No 726/2004, EudraLex Volumes 1 to 10 and other EU guidelines).
- Take into account the Helsinki Act and the WHO (The World Health Organisation) instructions: In its WHA 41.17 Resolution dated 13.5.1988 duly includes the following: "Medical Representatives should have an appropriate educational background. They should possess sufficient medical and technical knowledge and integrity to present information on products and carry out other promotional activities in an accurate and responsible manner."
