Aims of the course:
This programme is designed to give students the opportunity to:
- Recognise the need for existense of a structure, organization and the necessary sources for an effective function of the mass media field.
- Understand the factors designating the levels of Mass Media.
- Know the problems [social, political, financial] which Mass Media can cause or confront.
- Correct use of the language, both written and oral: the ability of the journalist to present the news in an exact manner in the printed of/and in the electronic media of information which greatly depends on how he/she masters adequately the language he/she uses.
- Write the news in a perceivable way.
- Know the sources of news.
- Collect news.
- Discriminate clearly news and comments.
- Sort the news or the material accordingly, to newspapers or periodicals.
- Evaluate and classify the news.
- Successfully entitle the news.
- Know and apply existing legislation regarding Mass Media.
- Appreciate and respect according to the established code of journalists ethics inspective of the sort of Mass Media in which they work.
- Develop political thinking and the ability to analyse critically political situations.
- Be aware of the developments that occur in the field of Mass Media and have the readiness to adapting to them.
