As office-administration becomes more systems-oriented and electronics-based, the demand for efficient secretarial staff keeps on growing. Modern secretarial skills have shifted significantly to database management, communication via the Internet and greater emphasis is placed on presentation. This course equips individuals with the skills required to commence a secretarial career in a modern-day organisation.


Aims of the Course:
  • To provide the students with knowledge, understanding and application of the concepts, competence and responsibilities associated with office organisation, procedures, administration and the provision of a full secretarial service.
  • To develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.
  • To help students to develop the note-taking skills and transcribe dictated material in English.
  • To provide the students with knowledge, understanding and application of the concepts, competence and responsibilities associated with planning results, press and news media, employee relation and marketing research.
  • To develop student's understanding of the basic principles underlying the recording of business transactions, including the influence of Information Technology and the ability to prepare accounts for sole traders and non-trading organisations.
  • To provide students with the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge of the business world, to identify the main functions of business activity and to develop understanding of the individual's contribution to the business organisation.
